Asheville Transit
The City encourages everyone to take advantage of the Transit System, but recommends checking the ALERTS page before leaving to make sure there is not a service outage or route change that may affect your travel plans. Checking the Asheville Transit’s HOLIDAY SCHEDULE can be helpful, too.

About Asheville Transit
Asheville Transit provides bus service throughout the City of Asheville and other local areas with 24 bus routes running from 6 a.m.-11:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Routes originate from the Transit Center, located at 49 Coxe Avenue in downtown Asheville (next to the U.S. Post Office). The center is conveniently located and provides clean restrooms, indoor and outdoor seating and an on-duty information assistant. The assistant can provide you with the latest maps and schedules; help you with monthly or annual pass purchases; and answer questions that you may have about riding the bus in Asheville.

Transit Master Plan
City Council adopted the Transit Master Plan in 2009. Then funded the following changes: 30 minute frequency on main corridors, performance measures to ensure on time performance, and consolidation of the day and evening routes.
